Before and Afters

I had really hoped to take some great "after" shots before the furniture was moved in, but that didn't happen. We're still about 15 or 25 percent in boxes and there are some furniture issues that need to be resolved, but overall we're starting to feel settled. I think it won't really feel like home till we have some friends over to share it with us, so we're looking forward to having all the dangerous tools and other stuff put away so we can start the invites!

We're hoping to get a little shelf to put over the toilet to hold makeup, medicine, etc. since we have a lot less storage in here than we did in our last house. We didn't really plan to renovate this room yet, but the wallpaper just peeled off. So it's sort of a half-done job here.

No pictures on the walls yet, the photo isn't very good, and I haven't found our shams yet for the bed, but you can see we painted, put in new carpet, and hung curtains.

Hardwood floors replaced the old carpet, knocked the wall out between den and kitchen, added built-in bookshelves (not quite finished yet), and painted. Boxes everywhere.

You can see where the hall and closet are now a laundry room, and the old laundry room is now my office.

It's a long galley kitchen and with the wall knocked out it feels huge!

God has blessed us with beautiful weather and this wonderful back yard that's fenced in. I can let the kids go out there and play, and I envision lots of fall evenings cooking out and watching kids running around playing.
