A conversation with Annie

Now that Grey's in kindergarten (and loving it), I have a lot more one-on-one time with Annie. Hayes naps before we go get Grey, and Annie "rests." She usually stays up in her room for a while then comes down and watches a movie. Today she stayed downstairs and colored at the kitchen table while I worked. I walked over to her and said, "Hey, Annie, can you do me a favor?" She looked at me and said, "Never grow up?" Love it.

In other notable news, Grey is reading! I knew he was getting words here or there, but yesterday he and Annie sat down on the couch next to me and he opened a book up and just started reading it to her. After a few pages I realized what was happening and tuned in. He had to ask for help a couple times, but I'm very proud of his hard work. His sweet teacher, Mrs. Teller, is so wonderful and I can tell he's learning so much. He's asked me a lot of thoughtful questions about the history of Christianity, and I love that he's learning so much about our faith as well as reading, writing, and arithmetic!
